Hello everyone!

So in my last post, I hinted that I had done something special on Tuesday afternoon as I didn't have any work.  Well today, you get to find out just what was so special (lucky you!).  It's not anything big, but it was still a lot of fun!  Okay, enough jibber jabber.  After class, I went to hang out with a friend from college (she's going to be my roommate next year!).  Again, nothing big, but I haven't had a lot of time this summer so doing anything social is kind of big for me.

Before we move on... I don't know about you, but one of my favorite aspects about blogging is being able to read back through my posts and see what I was doing, how I was writing, what food I was obsessed with, etc. weeks ago, months ago, and even years ago.  It's rather like an online journal.  That was one of the reasons I decided to pick it back up again and is why I'm going to try to keep with it for as long as I can.  Anyway, just wanted to get that out!  On to that wonderful afternoon that I now have a record of...

I picked up my friend at her house, and then we headed to lunch!  We ate at this cute little sandwich shop, and I ordered the half greek salad/half vegetarian combo.  They were both amazing!  The salad had a light, delicious dressing and the sandwich had soft, somewhat chewy bread and an outstanding creamy garlic (I think) spread.
And yes, that IS a chocolate chip cookie - all of their sandwiches come with them!  As good as the sandwich and salad were, the cookie was definitely the star of the show.  I was so excited and literally jumped up and down and squealed (my friend was rather entertained) when I found it lounging on my plate.  It was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.  Seriously if I lived in the same town as my friend, I would eat at that cafe everyday just to get the free cookie.

After lunch, we walked around town and stopped in a store called the Peppercorn.  It's a kitchen store so you better believe I didn't leave empty handed.  This accompanied home:
Let's take a look at all the good things that little guy was boasting:
1) It scooped my favorite food.
2) It was miniature (I cave for anything mini).
3) It was under $2.
4) Um, did you notice how adorable the cow is?
Clearly there was no way I could turn it down.

It was a super hot day so we decided to get something to drink.  We had walked into Starbucks when we turned to look out the window and saw a juice and smoothie shop.  Sorry, Starbucks.  I love you, but you just don't cut it when juices and smoothies walk into the picture.  Don't worry, I will back to you soon.  Everything looked amazing, but I decided to try a veggie juice since there are no juice shops where I live (I think I'd only had a veggie juice once before in some random airport?).  I went with the lemon zinger that contained lemon, ginger, kale, carrots, and spirulina.  I was a little skeptical, but all I could really taste was the lemon.  It was so refreshing!  My friend even tried it and liked it!
After walking around town, we headed to Celestial Seasonings for a tour and tea tasting!  We didn't have a lot of time before our tour so all we had a chance to sample was the country peach green tea and the tangerine orange zinger.  Both were wonderful!
And of course, I couldn't resist a picture with this giant teddy-bear. ;-)
The tour was a lot of fun!  My favorite part was the mint room.  SUCH a strong peppermint smell, most people on the tour couldn't stay in that room for more than a few seconds.  But I stayed in enjoyed every last minute.  Oh and we had to wear hairnets on the tour.  Part of the experience! ;-)
And of course, we had to buy some tea.  I saw these three flavors that I had never seen before, and there was no way I was leaving them behind.  I've only tried the raspberry green so far, but it's fantastic!
And that's all she wrote!  Well, not quite.  I finished my first project for my summer class (it's a drawing class for my art major)!  It's made with pastel and sharpies and was a ton of fun.  I drew it out on the canvas in black sharpie first, and I actually liked it best in black and white!  I'm still very pleased with how it came out, but since I have extra canvas, I plan to do another one in black and white.  I talked earlier about blogging as an online journal of sorts, so I want to document things that are important to me - such as completing that project!
I hope you all have an awesome Friday (Friday - woo!) and an amazing weekend!  I personally can't wait for Sunday, but you'll have to wait to find out why.... (sorry for the suspense ;-) ).

What was the last fun thing you did with a friend?
Do you enjoy reading back through your old posts?

I go back and read through my blog too. I also sometimes get really embarrassed about something I said in the past. Oh well! It looks like you had a lovely day. That tea is so tasty isn't it?

I've only been blogging for a few months now, but reading back at my first few posts have made me realized how different I was writing back then and now. It's kind of a trip!

I'm amazed at how quickly my writing has changed too. I don't necessarily feel that I write differently now, but looking back at old posts, I guess I do!

It was a lot of fun! I drink a lot of their tea so it was so cool to tour through the place where they actually make it!
